The Time Has Come

Have you ever felt that a change was coming long before it actually arrived?? I sure have.

For the past 9 months I have been sensing that a change was coming for me. Gosh! Now that I write it, I see that it has been 9 months! The time of gestation for a baby. When I dream, there is often a baby in my hands (or more than one!) or I am nursing a baby. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I LOVE babies, and I LOVE to nurture and mentor others. It is a passion of mine and I am always on a quest with God to learn how to be a stronger and more Christ-like mentor.

For the past 9 months God has had me learning things, reading books, and meditating on truths that I believe have been setting me up for a new thing. I have been asking God some hard questions, allowing Him to re-arrange my life dramatically and asking Him to show me what He wants for me.

Pregnancy is never full bliss, at least not for most women. I have a few dear friends that have endured vomiting and exhaustion right up until delivery day. My heart is filled with deep admiration for these women, because they are willing to endure temporary discomfort in order to see life come forth. They are willing to stretch and give of themselves unto a greater purpose.

Are we ready to do the same?!

Whatever point you are at on your journey with God and His destiny for you............... remember that good things come to those who wait, and preparation for your divine destiny will take the stamina of a woman who is pregnant.
God has impregnated you with a purpose and it is up to you to nurture and carry that seed. Don't grow weary yet, keep believing for life to come and a divine destiny to be revealed.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So true Cheryl...waiting is hard, but it is always to allow time for preparation.
When we are waiting for God to do something in our lives, we often think we should receive the fully mature baby the day after we realize we are pregnant....imagine how hard an adjustment that would be in the natural birth. Today, I find out I am pregnant, tomorrow I deliver a full term baby....we mothers cringe at that idea. we need time to get ready....
God always knows what is best doesn't He?!??!

Amen, and Amen. DO I know all about that. IT has been nine months since I closed my business and now I am opening a new one (in my home). It was those months in between that God was doing something in me and around me. I am a little bit wiser because of it. I feel I was on a bit of a detour but they can teach you alot.
Love ya lots Cheryl!!

Okay..I SO know about pregnancy as of late..lol..

What I must admit though, is that, being one of those who endured vomiting almost every day with 2 of her pregnancies (today included!!) that now, as the birth approaches, I take time to relish in the miracle that God is growing inside of me, and the amazing details he brings forth in our bodies... It really is remarkable!! He really knows what he's doing...
I'm still not sure if I'm ready for the delivery yet...better get ready eh?
And the best ofcourse, is the new life...!!!

You are so right Amy, you are one of the dear friends that I was talking about. I think of you often and admire your stamina.

Tammy......... I am so happy for your new endeavor, and rejoice with your new transition.

Hi from New Zealand. I found your blog while searching online for a particular worship song.... funny how search engines work! As a fellow worship leader and someone involved in mentoring and discipleship, just wanted to say I've enjoyed reading through it. I love the pregnancy picture you paint in this post. Keep up the good work for His glory.

Cheryl,
What a beautiful post. It's so true. I also think about what comes after pregnancy- labor. More specifically, transition in labor. It seems before anything is born, it is labored for.

Birth is a pretty cool thing, literally and spiritually!

Good post and a timely word. I had a lady in our church come up to me on Sunday and say she had a dream that I just gave birth to a baby.
