Shut In

We finally got our first real snow storm on the weekend, and got a fair bit of snow for our city of Kelowna.

It sure has been pretty!

One of the things that I love about a snow storm is that it makes people slow down. It even seems quieter when you are walking on a snowy night.

I have come to appreciate the value of slowing down and enjoying the ability to simply "shut yourself in" and rest, read, and reflect.
When I choose to do this (whether its snowing or not)... I can hear Him more clearly. The distractions fade away... and His voice becomes more obvious and I become more at peace.

God - thanks for using nature to cause us to rest, and "shut in" for a while with You.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. Psalm 62

What a beautiful picture Cheryl...I'd love a really good storm...just not during traveling time for Christmas.
It is so wonderful, to have a pj, snuggle in for the day together.
It really is too bad that we sometimes need the reminders to shut ourselves in as families and with God...but it feels so good when we do it, storm or not.

Love to you in Snowy Kelowna!

Beautiful picture Cheryl!

I'm actually coming to appreciate the snow. Don't like the bitter cold, but do like a nice snowy day.

I love a snow-filled shut-in day. Being forced to stop everything and stay in can be so therapeutic.

Love you lots!

Kevin and I sat in the hot tub last night with the snow coming down all around us.. we actually had to wear baseball caps to see each other.
